Chief executive Tim Griffiths said the London-based print facilities and management group was currently in consultation with affected staff and representatives.
"This could lead to losses but we hope to minimise the impact," said Griffiths.
The affected sites at Edinburgh and Normanton previously came under the Alistair McIntosh direct mail division, which Williams Lea acquired in June 2002 for an undisclosed sum (PrintWeek, 13 June 2002).
He said the consolidation had nothing to do with downsizing, but everything to do with creating larger dedicated units.
"It's about bringing best practice into our business," said Griffiths.
At the same time the firm is also looking to expand its warehousing facilities, also in Normanton.
