Vermillion puts cash and focus into packaging

Leeds-based repro firm Vermillion Graphics has confirmed that it is set to make inroads into the packaging market.

The company was formed in April by former employees of rival repro company Weir Holdings, now Winnets, and the move into packaging is not a surprise after it poached 11 members of staff from Winnets in the spring (PrintWeek, 12 August).

According to Vermillion production director Chris Milner the move towards packaging will result in more investment in equipment. Its most recent addition was a DuPont Cromalin AQ4 GE. The new kit will run alongside other equipment including an Agfa Grand Sherpa 64 and an Epson 4000.

"It is a necessary investment for us if we are to build on our customer base," said Milner. "Cromalin is a popular choice for proof-to-press match for our customers."
