"The aim is for me to drive our jet-propelled Quicksilver hydroplane (pictured) to a speed of 330mph," said Macknight. Upex held
a presentation at the Quicksilver headquarters in the East Midlands, giving attendees the chance to see the actual craft being built.
The next Upex-sponsored event will be "Speed Night with the Sports Stars" in Nottingham on 4 July. The fundraising dinner will feature speakers such as Steve Cram, Fred Trueman, Dickie Bird, Bob Champion and Duncan McKenzie.
