Ultragraph bumps up output with new CTP

Ultragraph has invested 170,000 in a Heidelberg platesetter to boost output and meet a need for 2,000 plates a month.

The B2 Suprasetter 74, with single-cassette loader, went into the firms 34-staff base in Ormskirk, Lancashire.

"We liked the build quality and the ease of manual handling," said managing director Nick Jones.

"The plate positioning is exactly square for imaging and the machinerys upgradability protects our investment," he added.

Ultragraph uses Saphira chemistry-free plates, supplied by Heidelberg, and recently bought two Stahlfolders.

Before buying the Suprasetter the firm, which produces marketing material for retailers, also looked at Agfa kit.
