Colour management has mainly been a tool available to companies with deep pockets, said managing director Geoffrey Clements.
The range, which is launched on 1 May, includes Check-up & Tune, a one-day colour management audit; Repro Pack for ensuring proofs match printed sheets; and What Profile?, a software module that can be used to check and change the ICC profiles attached to an image.
It has also produced a free download on using colour management, including how to set up Photoshop and QuarkXPress.
TypeMaker is also selling the GATF/RHEM light indicator strips in the UK. These purple patches use the phenomena known as metamerism, where two colours appear the same under some lighting conditions but not others. This is exploited to provide a visual check that proofs are being assessed under the correct lighting. Under the correct conditions the patches appear as one solid patch and under incorrect conditions they appear stripy.
They are sold as rolls of 50 stickers for 40.
