Its Printing Forecast 2004 shows that 39% of print and pre-press companies expect excellent conditions next year, compared to just 13% of respondents in spring this year. The survey was carried out among North American businesses.
However, despite the optimism, the analyst warns that print companies should not rely on macro economic recovery to develop their businesses.
TrendWatch Graphic Arts director Vince Naselli said: The economy rebound is not going to significantly help printing companies turn sales around. Instead printers and vendors need to change their business models to reflect the needs of todays business environment.
He added that printing companies needed to embrace digital printing, short-run colour, personalisation, JDF and CIP4.
