The company, a subsidiary of Finnish paper producer UPM, received the award having more than quadrupled its export turnover between 2002 and 2004.
"In recent years we have risen to the challenge of a reduced home market by looking for new openings for export," said Tillhill managing director Matthew Rivers.
The firm found new overseas outlets for its timber following the switch by UPM's newsprint mill at Shotton to 100% recycled fibre production.
This resulted in a reduction in the market for pulpwood and wood chips in the UK.
Tillhill is the UK's largest timber harvesting company, producing more than 1.6m cubic metres per year.
In addition to the 3,00 hectares of forest owned by UPM in the UK, it manages 160,000 hectares for external parties.
