The Printing Charity pays tribute to Sir Henry Cooper

The Printing Charity has paid tribute to Sir Henry Cooper, the former heavyweight boxer and supporter of the charity's fundraising events, who died last week.

Sir Henry was a regular attendee at the charity's annual boxing fundraising evening in the 1990s, which featured amateur fighters from disadvantaged areas of London.

The former British, Commonwealth and European heavyweight champion died on 1 May, two days short of his 77th birthday, after a long illness.

Stephen Gilbert, chief executive of the Printing Charity, said: "Sir Henry was a sporting icon who gave generously of his time to support the charity's fundraising events over the years.

"He is remembered not only for his sporting success but as a great personality. The charity's trustees, officers, staff and management extend their condolences to Sir Henry's family."
