Tapestry recruits Jeff Keene to spearhead new media push

Former Keenes managing director Jeff Keene has returned to the industry as business development director of Soho-based pre-media company Tapestry.

Keene, who left his former family-owned business in April following its buyout by the Australian pre-press group Wellcom in 2007, said he was "looking for a new challenge".

"I was definitely keen to stay within the industry, but I wanted to work with some of the new technologies that are emerging in terms of TV and new media production," said Keene.

"It's going to be very interesting. There are massive changes happening on the technology side and it's a very competitive sector, but Tapestry has a great reputation and an eye on the future."

Kevin McCormack, managing director of Tapestry, added: "Jeff chose Tapestry despite a lot of interest from many companies in our competitive set. I consider it a great compliment and an excellent reference for Tapestry's continuing success that he chose us in favour of the others."

In his new role, Keene will be responsible for developing the TV and digital production side of Tapestry's business as it looks to become a "complete production agency".

McCormack said: "A lot of our existing agency clients are moving more and more of their campaigns in that direction and we've got to be able to deliver across all the different environments.

"We've done a fair bit of preliminary work in terms of building up a portfolio and developing our relationships and bringing someone with Jeff's experience and reputation in gives us that added bonus."

Keene, who officially began his new role on Monday (6 September), added: "I'm excited to be back and I'm looking forward to contributing to the success of Tapestry."
