The firm is working to clear a backlog of orders for the machine and will ramp up production of the machine to 50 per month from August to meet the built up worldwide demand of over 300 units.
So far 60 UK firms have ordered the machine, with seven of those already installed.
The next five will go to UK customers in August. Back orders are expected to be completed by the end of the year.
Launched at Drupa the Suprasetter is Heidelberg's first homegrown thermal machine replacing previous models developed by Screen and Creo. The exclusive laser diode technology is set to form the basis of the firm's future CTP and DI products.
The firm confirmed, there had been a problem but said that "it's now sorted". Further products based on the technology are expected in the run-up to Ipex.
Suprasetter problem solved
Heidelberg has confirmed industry rumours that its new generation platesetter, the Suprasetter, had problems with its laser diodes but claims that these have now been resolved.
