Supplements shelf-life ends

The Evening Standard is to cease publication of its listings entertainment magazine, MetroLife, from the end of this month.

The closure of the supplement comes three years after its relaunch from being Hot Tickets.

The printing of MetroLife was handled by Polestar Petty, having moved there following the closure of Polestar's Watford plant.
The success and future development plans for the Standard's website, www.thisislondon.co.uk, is cited as one of the main reasons for the decision to dispense with MetroLife, which averaged around 84pp every week.

The paper has also announced that its City section is to abandon the pink tint on its business pages.

The pages will be incorporated into the main body of the newspaper from September.
