The agreement will see the Finnish-Swedish pulp and paper company become UNICEF's first global corporate partner in basic education.
"Like UNICEF we know that education is the key to both personal growth and broader development," said Stora Enso chief executive Jukka Hrml.
Over the five-year period Stora Enso will contribute 136,000 per year, and then an equal amount through in-kind gifts and employees' voluntary fund-raising activities.
The agreement was signed by Hrml and UNICEF executive director Carol Bellamy at a ceremony held at Stationers' Hall in London on 6 April.
Worldwide 121m primary school age children are currently denied schooling, more than half of which are girls.
UNICEF focuses on promoting the right of girls to an education, since it is believed they face bigger barriers than boys.
Stora Enso employs 44,000 staff worldwide and has a turnover of 8bn.
