Web-to-print self-adhesive labels and sticker manufacturer Stickershop has taken on a new Titanium 2516 cutting table to eliminate a manual cutting and finishing bottleneck arising from growing demand.

Supplied by International Graphics Supplies (IGS), the 2.5x1.6m machine was installed at the Bristol-based firm’s premises in October.

Stickershop director Shane Pritchard said: “We had looked at a range of cutting machines but after thorough testing, and visiting an existing Titanium user, the Titanium 2516 stood out for us. It is robust, adaptable, and very competitively priced.”

Established in 2017, Stickershop employs eight staff and runs seven Roland DG wide-format print and cut machines and a Ricoh digital production colour printer.

The company said that with the addition of the Titanium cutter, it can now offer a varied range of self-adhesive labels and stickers in a variety of ink options, in any size or shape and any quantity.

The Titanium has been integrated into the company’s workflow using bespoke software, developed in-house by fellow director Callum Baker.

This takes all of the company’s jobs from order to dispatch via proof approval, imposition, printer selection and cutting by using a barcode scanning system. The business said this level of automation makes it very efficient in processing large amounts of daily orders.

The cutting tables in the Titanium series feature automatic precision cutting tools that enable the exact cutting depth to be achieved quickly, precisely, and efficiently.

A high resolution registration camera is supplied as standard with all Titanium cutters to ensure that printed jobs are cut accurately to register, while QR code recognition automatically locates the correct cutting file for each job.

A range of special tools are also supplied with each cutter that offer speed, power, and the flexibility to handle a wide variety of materials, such as Dibond, corrugated, folding carton, solid board, foam, coating blankets, textiles, wood, and a range of different plastics.
