SRD Print targets growth in retail signage with Agfa Anapurna investment

SRD Print has targeted growth in the retail signage market following its investment in an Agfa Anapurna Mw inkjet printer.

The Lutterworth, Leicestershire-based business has taken delivery of the wide-format hybrid UV machine to diversify from its core litho and digital offering.

The Anapurna Mw has enabled the seven-staff company to cross-sell display and signage graphics to existing clients with a focus this year on attracting new customers.

Craig Butterfield, director of SRD Print, said: "We have been delighted with it. We have only had the machine a short time and already it is paying its way."

SRD's new machine, which can print at resolutions of up to 720x1,440dpi gives the company a white ink option to allow it to print on transparent material and backlit applications or as white as a spot colour.

"The white ink in particular enables us to print on a wide variety of transparent substrates and all of our customers are very impressed with the quality," he said.

Esther Butterfield, director at SRD, added that the plan was now to bolster the company's retail client base and to "keep evolving".
