Mondi Display has bought Nottingham silk-screen firm Specialised Printed Graphics to strengthen its core market of point-of-sale products.
The 10m-turnover packager will rename the printer Mondi Display SPG. But it will be an autonomous set up and none of the 20 staff will lose their jobs, said Mondi Display managing director Kim Dutfield.
"We do everything within the point-of-sale market from converting and making materials," he said, "but we dont print and felt we needed the flexibility."
SPG, which has a turnover of 1.5m, will produce displays, banners and headed cards to complement Mondis output from 150 staff in 15 factories.
SPGs joint partners, Neil Mason and Rob Sliman, may take on more regional roles rather than specific duties.
"This isnt about buying a business but the expertise," added Dutfield.
