Chairman Bob Hodgson said: There are 140 publicly quoted companies based there, so thats 140 report and accounts for us.
He said the groups traditionally strong presence in the region had waned since Pillans & Wilson Greenaway moved to London in 1998 under the companys previous management.
Ormolu Groups Greenaways division and the Western Daily Press sponsor the South West Financial Communications Awards.
Hodgson said that the awards would recognise the best in print and electronic communications.
