Industry and regions minister Margaret Hodge has announced that the Manufacturing Advisory Service will offer free advice to SME firms from April 2008.
The business diagnostic service will offer an extended range of help, including strategic planning and skills development, sourcing materials and technology, management and operation advice on company business, and improved resource efficiency in energy and waste.
Hodge said: “This investment is a tangible illustration of confidence in the future of British manufacturing.”
• Hodge is to address the industry on corporate social responsibility at a conference organised by PM firm Entrinsic on 21 May. For more, see www.printweek.com.
