The print market will not have been given much ground for optimism by the CBIs June survey of industrial trends.
UK manufacturers ex-pect domestic prices to fall more quickly than at any time since last September, it claimed.
Only 9% thought average prices at which domestic prices are booked would go up, with 26% saying they would go down, giving a balance of minus 17 compared to last months minus 12.
Total order books were still "significantly below normal" at minus 22, while export order books hit minus 29 a slight increase on May.
Sudhir Junankar, the CBIs associate director of economic analysis, said the downturn would gather pace as the grip of domestic competitive pressures tightened.
