Screen has recruited former PPS digital press salesman Nick Kernick as sales manager (digital presses) in a move to expand its UK TruePress customer base.
Kernick has also worked for Xerox, and he handled sales of Agfas Chromapress products before Agfa sold its digital printing systems division to MAN Roland.
Last August he left PPS only one month after it formed its digital printing sales team to become product manager at Bowe (PrintWeek, 25 August 2000).
At Bowe he specialised in selling Roll Systems products, but he said his move to Screen had got him "back to where I feel strongly that I belong".
"I wanted to stay in the digital printing sector and the opportunity with Screen UK is ideal," he said. "Its been great fun so far and Im sure it will continue that way."
Kernick plans to increase the presence of the TruePress in the UK by direct mail and targeting existing Screen customers.
"It would be nice for more people to be more aware of it," he added.
In his role as overall digital sales manager, Kernick will cover the entire country, with regional sales managers below him.
