Repro Sales & Repairs will focus on selling ECRMs Mako 2 CTP system to small printers. Four other dealers in the UK Avon Graphics, Bodoni, Openshaw and Monographics also sell ECRM CTP equipment.
We appointed Repro Sales & Repairs as we are pitching ourselves towards the bread and butter end of the CTP market, said ECRM area sales manager Ken Tucker.
He said ECRMs decision to focus on smaller printers was taken because of successes in the early 1990s.
We didnt realise how successful we had been with our VR30 range back then, and its these customers we are pitching the Mako 2 at, he said.
Tucker said that this was where he felt Repro Sales were effective, as they were keen and aggressive in that sector.
Mike Adams, UK sales manager of Repro Sales & Repairs, said the firm had a very large and loyal customer base, and it has grown with us over the last 14 years.
Repro Sales has expanded its remit from traditional print equipment into the imagesetter market over the past three years, with products from Fuji, Creo and Heidelberg, and has developed a key focus on CTP, proofing and digital workflows.
Adams said the company had also been appointed as southern region UK dealer for Escher-Grads Cobalt CTP systems, a deal that was concluded shortly after Ipex. Fastek Graphic Systems handles the north of the country for Escher-Grad.
The Mako 2 CTP system will retail at around 30,000 in the UK.
