Replica beefs up board ahead of 2006 revamp

Repro house Replica 02 has unveiled ambitious plans to more than triple turnover in 2006 after teaming up with two former Seven employees for a New Year rebrand.

Justin Jenkins and Mark Bent, previously operations manager and client services manager respectively at Seven Manchester, have joined the Stockport firm's board prior to the revamp as Brand Imaging Solutions on 1 January.

They join Steve Mylott, Simon Potter and Dave Bretnall, who led a 2002 management buy-out at the Stockport-based packaging specialist to create Replica 02.

Chairman Ian Hewson said that the rebranded firm would aim for sales of 5m-6.5m in 2006, compared to around 1.5m in 2005.

It's a very significant move for us," he said.

He said that Jenkins and Bent would bring around 3.5m-4m in new business, but declined to say which clients were likely to follow the pair from Seven to BIS.

Hewson did, however, reveal that the hike in turnover was likely to come from the "cans and drinks" market.

He added that additions would be made to the firm's current 30-strong workforce as new business came in.

Dave Bretnall, Replica 02 sales director, described Jenkins and Bent as "industry leaders in their field", and said that the new structure would "offer truly exciting times ahead for all our clients".

Jenkins said that the development was a "unique opportunity" to grow the business in the advertising, packaging and point-of-sale sectors.

"Our aim is to build strong partnerships with our clients based upon old-fashioned values," he added.
