Printweek is to host a live webinar tomorrow ambitiously titled ‘The future of sheetfed printing’ which, with an expert panel of print leaders, will discuss the largely untapped opportunity UV LED offers commercial printers.

Empress managing director David May, Precision Proco CEO Gary Peeling and Flexpress managing director Steve Wenlock, all UV LED trailblazers, will share their real-world experiences of switching to the technology and the impact it had on their businesses.

In the 45-minute session, sponsored by GEW, the panel will share the real pros and cons of working with UV LED, whether retrofitted or configured from new.

Topics covered will include:

  • How litho can remain competitive in the commercial print arena
  • What types of businesses and work mixes UV LED is right for and, importantly, wrong for
  • The real cost impact of running UV LED
  • What the manufacturers DON’T tell you
  • The risks, if any, of not switching in the future

“I’m looking forward to a great discussion,” said Printweek editor and session moderator Darryl Danielli.

“Hearing from commercial print business leaders about their thoughts on the future of sheetfed litho and their own experiences of switching to UV LED should make for a really interesting discussion and one that I’m sure will be a must watch for many.”

The webinar will be wrapped up with a Q&A session where the audience can post their own questions to the panel, which also includes GEW's Jamie Neill.

The virtual roundtable takes place at 12.30pm BST, Wednesday 30 March.

You will need to sign up in advance to view tomorrow's live discussion, which will also be archived for on-demand viewing by registered viewers who can’t make the live broadcast.
