Random House lands 2nd deal for POD service

Random House Distribution (RHD) has expanded its print-on-demand (POD) service after signing a deal with Eastbourne-based book printer Antony Rowe.

The deal will allow clients of RHD, which operates from three centres in Frating, Grantham and Welling-borough, to order short runs or single copies of books. Publishers Duckworth and Faber & Faber have already signed up for the service.

This is the second POD deal for RHD, which has been offering the service to six publishers through Lightning Source in Milton Keynes since November 2004.

Antony Rowe managing director Robert Hunt predicted that the on-demand market would continue to grow "for at least another five years".
