The feedback from our customers was they needed version 5 [to upgrade to 6 while retaining backwards compatibility] and didnt want to pay for it, said Quark UK sales manager Nick Martin at last weeks Digital Ad Lab. We can now offer a better deal that allows you to save back to version 4.
Quark Licence Administrator (QLA), the firms software for managing multiple copies of its software within a firm, has been updated to allow the concurrent running of versions 4, 5 and 6 of QuarkXPress. It is also now possible to install multiple versions of the software on a single machine, without overwriting the older versions.
Concurrency is a big issue, the feedback was that this is what our customers wanted, said Martin.
He will bring QuarkXPress product managers over to the UK to discuss version 7 with the Digital Ad Lab later this year.
