Pyramid moves into B2 with its 1st MAN Roland

Pyramid Printers has bought its first MAN Roland R305 with double perfector in a deal worth over 500,000.

The press is the Doncaster firm's first MAN Roland and will sit alongside a two-colour Heidelberg Printmaster and a Heidelberg TOK.

Chris Richardson, one of three brothers who are partners in the firm, said they chose the MAN Roland because it "produced the best image on paper".

The investment marks the commercial printing company's first move into B2 printing.

"It's opened up a new market for us. There's been enthusiasm from our existing customers and we've pulled in some new ones, too," said Richardson.

Simon Richardson, also a partner, said the press's PECOM control system had allowed the firm to "reduce makeready times".
