Pyramid in 5m restructure

Pyramid Press has rounded off almost 5m of investment over the past 18 months with a move to new premises and the installation of its first B1 press.

The Nottingham firm has moved into a new 3,200m2 factory, tripling its available space, and installed a Heidelberg Speedmaster CD 102 six-colour with coater. It also beefed up its finishing department with a TD66 folder and Polar 115X guillotine.

Moving to B1 has already paid dividends for the firm, which was previously a B2 house.

"Some of the B2 work we did lent itself to B1. This has made us much more flexible," said managing director Frank Dillon.

The CD 102 joins a six-colour CD 74 installed at the beginning of the year and a Topsetter 102 B1 platesetter, which the firm installed 18 months ago in preparation for the switch to a larger format.
