Cambrian Printers has predicted that print spend across the industry will increase by 10% by the end of the 2010.
Its survey of 50 print buyers also indicated an increasing reliance on digital and specialist high quality printing.
The firm surveyed customers and others in the print purchasing industry.
The research was carried out by marketing consultant Helen Mitchell of Morgan Griffiths. She said: "As the standard of digital printing improves, respondents felt that quality would become so high that it would be unwise not to invest.
"Printing publications out over the internet also looks set to grow," she added.
However, only 6% of those surveyed regularly use the internet to source suppliers, with sales representatives coming top at 22%, followed by word of mouth at 20%.
Current print spend of those questioned ranged from 10,000-15m.
