The intervention by the Institute has prevented the sale and dispersal of the unique collection, and ensures that the Library will remain in its traditional home.
While as yet there was no ink on paper with the deal, it is expected to be completed in the next few weeks.
The Library will be completely closed in April as a result of the agreement, and will then be subject to a minimum opening of 20 hours per week.
