The scheme is an extension of training offered to staff from NatMags, a major Chantry customer. Attendees will receive certificates in either Print Essentials or Print Essentials (Advanced) on completion of the course.
Polestar is targeting editorial, advertising, marketing and production staff.
Meanwhile, Polestar Chantry and London repro house FE Burman are losing out after IPC ignite! said it would close monthly dance music magazine Muzik after the August issue.
The publisher blamed a decline in advertisement and copy sales revenues for the failure of the magazine, which had a circulation of 36,000, but the rise in popularity of the 60,000-circulation Mixmag is certain to have had an impact.
IPC ignite! also publishes rock weekly NME and music and movies monthly Uncut.
