PlateRite 8600 does the job for Sterling Colour

Gillinghams Sterling Colour has taken delivery of a Screen PlateRite 8600 thermal platesetter bought at Ipex.

We needed a high-productivity B1 and B2 machine to meet demand, said Chris Brown, head of finance, IT and pre-press at parent Sterling Finance.

The PlateRite, supplied by Litho Supplies, produces 20 plates an hour and has a single auto loader. It joins a FlatRite 1050 and Screen imagesetters.

Positive Images, based in Wimbledon, bought a Screen PlateRite 4000 B2 machine at Ipex. The buy from Bousfield is its first foray into CTP and the firm wants to up capacity by almost a third within a year.

Director Danny Sullivan aims to add monthly magazines to its existing work for health and leisure clients.
