The PlateRite 8000II was developed due to customer demand for a wider clamp range to cope with plates for GTO and web presses.
Screen UK managing director Brian Filler said: "You wouldnt invest in an 8000 to just output GTO plates, but some of our customers asked why they couldnt take advantage of the 8000 for their GTOs when it wasnt outputting for anything else."
The 8000II can handle a minimum plate size of 450x370mm up to a maximum of 1,160x940mm.
The new version, which can output 13 B1 plates an hour at 2,400dpi as opposed to 12 by the original PlateRite 8000, is available for shipment immediately.
