Pims chairman Julian Henchley said that there was "nothing sinister" behind the move, and that it was simply a "restructuring of the business".
In the UK the firm has also closed its Basildon digital facility, and moved into a 2,200sqm central London operation.
Henchley said he expects the two US firms to re-emerge from bankruptcy protection by March 2006.

Pims New York and Chicago operations have filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, but its UK operations remain unaffected.
