PDF Solutions has taken on global distribution rights for the Web Proof Reading Solution (WPRS) developed by Denmarks Int Business Web Solutions.
The software has not previously been available outside Denmark. PDF Solutions director Stuart Slaney said pricing hadnt been finalised for the off-the-shelf product but it would be in the 2,200 (E3,500) range.
Slaney said the software was completely compatible with PDF. It allows users to soft proof jobs over their intranet or the internet, make corrections and add proofing notes.
PDF Solutions also plans to put a demo of the software on its website in the next couple of weeks. Prospective buyers will be given a password and will then be able to log on and view live workflow online.
Slaney said WPRS bridges the gap between the remote client, remote printer and remote publisher.
He also said it was the first off-the-shelf product of its type and saved printers and publishers the time and money needed to develop customised online proofing systems.
