PCS installs 200,000 punch as new business 'floods in'

Packaging manufacturer Plastic Card Services has invested 200,000 to ramp up its capacity.

The Macclesfield, Cheshire-based company has installed an Oasys progression punch, following a "dramatic" increase in demand for producing and printing key fobs over the past year.

Although it was only installed last month, managing director Rob Nicholls said that the machine had already secured more than £800,000 of new business.

He said: "It will enable us to meet the requirements of existing and potential clients as they extend their loyalty schemes to include key fobs, particularly in the retail, leisure and hotel sectors."

Nicholls added that the company could now manufacture products such as double gift cards, hanger cards and snap-off products.

The £5m-turnover, 68-employee company, which also installed an Atlantic Zeiser press three months ago, is targeting further card personalisation equipment in the coming months.
