The toners have been certified to be fully compliant with all EU health and safety regulations by German independent testing institute ISEGA.
According to Will Mansfield, director of sales, operation and development EMEA, NexPress the move will help open up new markets.
"Packaging companies are looking at digital because of products' speed to market and as a way to cut costs," he said. "So far we have some packaging customers in Germany and there is strong interest in the UK."
The certifications cover the process colours, special colours and the clear coat used to add a protective layer or a high gloss finish.
