NexPress bound for Cardiff

Illustrated Stationery plans use the NexPress it has ordered to print onto a range of plastics as well as paper.

The machine is due to be installed at its factory just north of Cardiff next month.

The firm plans to use the machine primarily for personalising social stationery and greetings cards, which account for 30% of turnover.

Because we handle a large amount of paper-based products we wanted the NexPress, said managing director Paolo Scaglioni. But we will trial it printing on self-adhesive vinyl, polycarbonates and PVC. We are excited about the prospects for this.

This will be used to develop new products.

It has gone to Tavistock-based Tamar Labels. The deal, signed at LabelExpo in September, included an Omega off-line finishing line.
