The system, developed in-house at Newsquest, owner of the Poole web offset printer, allows customers and Southernprint production staff to simultaneously view the same production information.
Commercial director John Sharp said the firms pre-press strategy was based around minimising opportunities for error.
With the Online JobBag, everybody simultaneously sees the most up-to-date information, he added.
The browser-based system is already in extended trials with some customers.
Its a way to free up time and improve service, not to reduce headcount, said Sharp.
The firm is also using Creos Synapse InSite tool for online proofing, and has integrated the UpFront imposition database software that Creo took on when it acquired ScenicSoft last year.
Southernprint runs a full PDF workflow using version 2.1 of Prinergy and has two Creo Trendsetter VLF platesetters. It has been 100% digital for around 18 months.
