He will be responsible for the efficiency of the ink-jet print head manufacturers production and supply chain, and for ensuring compliance with quality processes.
Last year the firms manufacturing plant in Stockholm was awarded ISO 9001 quality certification.
Lockett joins from FujiFilm Electronic Imaging, where he was deputy director of manufacturing with accountability for day-to-day operations at its Peterborough plant.
Before that he was operations manager at Deltron Components, which manufactures audio connectors.
Xaar has also named Sericol, Avecia and Ceema Technology as new partners in its integration and consultancy programme, which is designed to help manufacturers and printers develop and integrate Xaars products.
Sericol Imaging develops ink-jet products, while Ceema is a UK-based systems integration company. Avecia Inkjet Printing Materials supplies dye-based colorants, and UV and oil-based inks.
