New moniker for Multimedia

St Ives Multimedia has been rebranded as St Ives Print & Display following last years incorporation of the Displaycraft point-of-sale business into the division.

Divisional managing director Steve Hart said the new name, which took effect on 1 August, reflected the wider remit of the business, which was now "bigger and better".

Hart said marrying the two groups had already led to a growth in business: "We recognised that most multimedia customers have significant point-of-sale requirements, and none of our competitors are offering this. Likewise POS clients need sheetfed print too, so there are lots of synergies."

Print & Display has just completed the closure of its Tunbridge Wells plant (PrintWeek, 26 February), which has seen the factory's kit and most of the staff relocated to the newer 6,000m2 site at Crayford.

One of the Tunbridge Wells presses has been moved to its Blackburn facility, which has doubled in size to 4,460m2 with the purchase of an adjacent factory unit.

The bindery has been moved into the new unit, with the two buildings connected via a covered walkway. A second 10-colour B1 perfector is also on the cards for the plant.
