MiniMail, the independent print management division of direct response agency JDA, has secured its first contract - worth 200,000 - with PPP Healthcare.
The Bradford-based firm will provide 3.5m door-to-door leaflets and 9m newspaper inserts for PPP, part of the Axa Group.
Waddington & Ledger, one of MiniMail's 20 suppliers, printed the four-colour jobs on a 16pp MAN Roland Rotoman press.
Williams Lea, which is responsible for all of the Axa Group's print management, subcontracted MiniMail to handle the contract.
MiniMail will retain the contract for the first quarter and is "speaking to Williams Lea regarding the rest of the year," according to production director Les Peacock.
MiniMail started business on 2 January after a management buyout the previous year. "Many of our customers were worried that JDA would take them over and 'swamp' them and therefore wanted to deal just with print production," said Peacock.
The firm has retained JDA customers such as BT, travel firm Thomson and Hoverspeed. Its own customers include The Royal Mint and it also specialises in printing for charities. The creation of the independent company caused neither a change of staff nor location.
