A trio of new print and related tenders from local councils are currently open via the government’s Find a Tender and Contracts Finder services.

Gateshead Council is looking to establish a dynamic purchasing system (DPS) with a number of qualified and experienced suppliers to deliver a range of printing and fulfilment services.

Categories of the DPS include printing and fulfilment services, printing of Council News magazine and other related articles, general print, large-format print and promotional print.

The purpose of the DPS is to meet the council's requirements for printing and fulfilment work that cannot be fulfilled by its internal multi-functional devices.

Worth £2m, the closing date is 11 July 2022 at 12pm and the contract would start on 1 August 2022 and end on 31 July 2027.

Meanwhile, a contract for the provision of print brokerage services is being tendered by West Sussex County Council (WSCC).

With an estimated total value of £1.68m, the contract covers all print types, including but not limited to leaflets, brochures and flyers, business stationery, posters and banners, books, bespoke signage, direct mail and more.

The services will include elements of digital-based campaigns, moving away from physical print where appropriate.

The contract, which is not divided into lots, would start on 1 October 2022, with 30 September 2029 listed as the end date.

The council stated: “It is anticipated that the contract will be awarded for an initial period of five years from the commencement date of 1 October 2022, with an option to extend on the same terms and conditions at WSCC’s discretion by an additional two years in any combination. The maximum duration of the contract term will therefore be seven years.”

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 18 July 2022 at 12pm.

Finally, Newcastle City Council is establishing a corporate print services framework for the provision of a range of high-quality printed material as and when required. This will include the supply, storage, and delivery of printed materials.

“Specifically the framework will be utilised by Newcastle City Council,” the notice stated.

With an estimated total value of £300,000, the contract is not divided into lots but is subject to renewal. The duration is listed as 24 months, and the description of renewals is “two x 12-month options to extend”.

The time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 14 July 2022 at 12pm.
