Magazine Printing Company chairman Tony Stokes has refuted claims that his company was the subject of the Financial Times For Sale advertisement on 5 June (PrintWeek, 8 June).
But he did admit that it was "common knowledge in the industry that I am looking to retire and if someone made me the right offer I might not say no".
Stokes said that his company had recently picked up "at least eight new magazine contracts", most recently the Regatta monthly magazine previously printed at Duncan Web Offset.
"At the moment we are particularly buoyant," said Stokes.
Regatta has a print run of around 13,000 and is the monthly magazine of the Amateur Rowing Association.
