The 11-strong team is part of the companies Technology Centre for Specialities, based at Zanders Gohrsmhle mill in Germany.
The centre will analyse, develop and test coating formulations in conjunction with OEMs.
M-real Digital Imaging has also installed another small-format converting line at its Reflex mill in Germany, which will come on-stream next month. It will produce digital papers, including uncoated, matt, gloss and cast-coated as well as ink-jet products.
