Line Packaging installs Kongsberg XL24 table

Line Packaging & Display has installed an Esko-Graphics Kongsberg XL24 sample table.

"The reliability, build quality and accuracy are the best in the industry," said graphic designer Dave Beevis, who needed more capacity for point-of-sale material and protective packaging at the plant in Gillingham, Kent.

Beevis added: "We have a lot of cutting and half cutting to register in a range of materials. The XL24 effortlessly handles complex displays and mini desktop-sized samples needing small, finely cut pieces."

According to Line Packaging & Display studio manager John McCready, the 1,680x3,050mm table with standard Flexihead was quiet and more cost effective than spending around 1,200 on production tooling.

The new sample room freed up space in the design studio for two more graphic artists, added McCready, who bought two seats of Esko-Graphics ArtiosCAD software for graphic displays and Adobe compatibility.

"We are making maximum use of our sample table to create fully mocked up prototypes in board and propropylene," said McCready.
