Leachprint invests in automated Stahl 56

Commercial printer Leachprint has installed a Heidelberg Stahlfolder TH 56 automated buckle folder with an additional knife-fold unit.

The Abingdon-based company bought the machine to complement three Stahlfolders.

Leachprint’s new folder, which is the firm’s first automated machine, will  undertake the bulk of the pharmaceutical specialist’s commercial work, leaving its existing machines to handle specialist pharmaceutical work.

Managing director Neil Stratford said: "We are replacing one machine with this investment. It will probably handle 50% commercial work but, as a result, it will take most of our commercial work, so the remaining
folders will all be able to concentrate on the pharmaceutical jobs."

Family-owned Leachprint has been running for 109 years. It has 30 staff and a turnover of £1.8m.
