Appointed as sales director in early 2025 after nearly 20 years at the company, Skirton has been given a remit for growth and will hire to expand his four-strong sales team.
“The priority is to grow the business: bring more sales and more customers into the business, and try to bring new products into the business,” Skirton told Printweek.
He said the company was “very strong in a number of sectors”, including local government, utilities, membership, financial services and healthcare, and would be working to better penetrate and engage with those markets.
“They’re key markets, and we’ll be looking to grow in them,” Skirton said.
“That will obviously include some digital delivery services, as more people move into that world – we offer an omnichannel approach, offering traditional print and mail, and also the digital delivery of documents should a customer want it.
“I’ve been in the print industry for over 40 years, so my blood still runs with ink and Pantone colours, but obviously we know that the world is changing.”
Latcham employs just under 100, printing its mail in-house on Canon and Ricoh inkjet machines, and managing wider print needs for a number of its clients: including print management, print and fulfilment makes up around 40% of the business.
“I’m excited looking forward to the next couple of years and the challenge that lies ahead, to grow the brand and increase awareness of it in the marketplace,” Skirton said.
“You might speak to a lot of people that say they don’t really know Latcham, but if you ask our customers who we are, they give a very good story about what we do, because we look after them.”
Mike Hughes, managing director of Latcham, commented: "We are delighted to welcome Mark to our senior management team. This appointment follows a detailed review of our sales and marketing structure and growth plans for the business.
“We're making significant investments in both sales and marketing to drive business growth and continually enhance the services we offer to our fantastic client base."
