Landa customers to visit beta site

Landa’s first VIP customer event is underway in Israel, with more than 100 customers from around the world in attendance including several from the UK.

Attendees include a mixture of packaging and commercial printers. Firstan, which was among the firms to place a deposit back at Drupa 2012, is represented by directors Andrew and Paul Hartwig. Bridger Packaging managing director Lawrence Bridger and Falkland Press managing director Jon Lancaster are also at the event, as is CPI Group vice president of operations Matthew Baldwin.

Some customers have requested that their details be kept confidential.

The VIPs are set to visit Landa’s first beta site installation, packaging printer Graphica Bezalel, which installed its B1 S10 simplex press over the summer.

Landa Digital Printing founder and chairman Benny Landa said: “For us this is really a very exciting time, after 15-16 years [of development] we have finally shipped a real machine to a real customer and we are thrilled.”

He described it as “the first stage of take-off” for the firm’s Nanography technology inkjet presses, first shown at Drupa 2012.

“Until now we’ve been accelerating down the runway. Now, it’s rotate. It’s take-off.”

Landa left Drupa 2016 with orders worth €450m (£408m).
