Alumni rejoins

Label Apeel targets growth north of the border

Cronan: I’ve missed being part of a team

Label Apeel has strengthened its sales team by welcoming back one of its alumni as it looks to grow its premium drinks labels business.

Michael Cronan re-joined the business as sales manager for Scotland in September.

He was previously a business development manager at the 50-staff business, before leaving in late 2021 after just over three years. In the two years since he left, he held various roles in the software and recruitment sectors.

Based in Stirling, central Scotland, Cronan said the drinks market in the country is “fairly buoyant” and that by leveraging his local and market knowledge he was already in talks with numerous distillers.

Label Apeel owner Stuart Kellock said: “It’s great to welcome Michael back. He brings with him fresh ideas and enthusiasm that will help us build on the existing success of Label Apeel Scotland.

“As well as being a genuine salesperson, he is warm, approachable and knows the secret ingredients to what makes an eye-catching label.”

The Thurmaston, Leicestershire label specialist, Printweek's 2023 Label Printer of the Year, already works with brands including Kilchoman Distillery, Wolfburn Distillery, GlenWyvis and Glenturret. However, with a dedicated sales manager in Scotland the business hopes to establish an operation north of the border.

“I’m excited about growing the business and the team and working with more of the great FMCG brands, including cosmetic and homeware from across Scotland,” said Kellock.

Cronan added: “I’ve missed being part of a team who are passionate about what they do. With Label Apeel Scotland we will offer better communications, delivery and customer service than our competitors.”
