According to UK chairman Martin Rickards: "Komori has always focused on its core business, despite the euphoria of others over the past decade, and has reaped the benefits."

Komori Corporation's net sales for the year ending March 2004 were more than 497m, up 6.8% on the previous year. Operating income was up 30% at 33m.

Komori UK results are yet to be published but the situation is equally rosy. "The business grew and we have remained profitable," said Rickards.

He added that the UK had also enjoyed a great Drupa, saying: "In the 12-14 years that I've been with the company, I don't think we have ever exceeded what we did at this year's event."
