Koenig & Bauer Durst builds senior team with sales hire

Bösch: brings another layer of expertise to the business

Koenig & Bauer Durst has recruited a new sales director with wide-ranging digital and conventional printing experience, including at Landa Digital Printing.

Benjamin Bösch took up his new role at the beginning of this month.

He has more than 25 years’ experience in the printing and packaging industry, including roles at the then-Manroland where he was product manager for its Printcom system and then moved into web offset sales; and at HP where he worked across its Indigo and digital web press operations.

After seven years at HP Bosch then joined Landa Digital Printing as regional sales manager for the DACH countries just over four-and-a-half years ago.

Daniel Velema who took up the role of managing Director of Koenig & Bauer Durst just a few weeks ago, said: “We welcome Benjamin with open arms into the Koenig & Bauer Durst family.

“Benjamin’s considerable experience in folding carton and corrugated markets will bring another layer of expertise as we continue to expand operations within digital printing in our core markets of corrugated and folding carton that are ripe for digital transformation.”

Velema described the appointment as “an important strategic development” as K&B Durst strives to maximise the capabilities and know-how of its parent companies.

Bösch commented: “I am incredibly excited to be taking up this new challenge and am looking forward to meeting new colleagues and existing customers to bring value to corrugated and folding carton markets.”

Koenig & Bauer Durst’s product portfolio includes the hybrid digital/flexo CorruJet 170 aimed at high-volume corrugated production and the Delta SPC 130 inkjet system also for corrugated markets with a volume of up to 1.5m/sqm per month.

The co-developed VariJet 106 B1 sheetfed inkjet press, just entering series installations after two beta test sites last year, is targeted at folding cartons can also be configured with offset and flexo units.

The devices all use water-based, food safe inks.
